The NORTON 66261138638 is a 2-inch quick-change abrasive disc from the R860 series, designed for aggressive stock removal on metal and wood surfaces. It uses a zirconia alumina abrasive grain at 24 grit (extra coarse), which is self-sharpening and maintains a consistent cut rate throughout the disc life. The Y-weight polyester backing provides rigidity and durability under high-pressure grinding. Attachment is via a Speed-Lok TS (Type II / Type S) quick-change hub, making disc swaps fast during production grinding tasks. Licensed HVAC technicians, fabricators, metalworkers, and maintenance professionals are the primary installers and users of this disc.
This disc is suited for handheld disc sander applications in both fabrication shops and field maintenance settings. The semi-open coat and coarse 24-grit construction make it effective for weld blending, deburring, and rapid material removal on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard and soft carbon steels, and hard and soft woods. The waterproof polyester backing allows use in wet or oily environments without backing failure. It is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 25 units per purchase.
Compatible with handheld disc sanders equipped with a Speed-Lok TS (Type II / Type S) quick-change attachment system. Suitable for material applications including 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, hard woods, and soft woods.
Ensure the sander spindle uses a Speed-Lok TS (Type S / Type II) backup pad before mounting this disc. Confirm the tool RPM rating does not exceed 30,000 RPM before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows cracks, tears, or delamination. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable ANSI B7 grinding safety standards during use.
