The NORTON 66261138319 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) abrasive disc built for aggressive material removal on large-format grinding and finishing applications. Measuring 12 inches in diameter, this disc uses a zirconia alumina abrasive grain rated at 36 grit, placing it firmly in the very coarse grade category. The Y-weight cloth backing delivers the rigidity and tear resistance required for heavy stock removal on metal, weld seams, castings, and similar hard surfaces. The flexible construction allows the disc to conform slightly under load without sacrificing cut rate. Installation is tool-free — the PSA backing bonds directly to a compatible foam or hard backup pad.
This disc is suited for industrial grinding, metal fabrication, weld blending, and surface conditioning tasks where aggressive cutting action is needed. The 12-inch diameter makes it appropriate for stationary disc sanders and large-format portable machines used in fabrication shops, foundries, and heavy-duty finishing operations. No vacuum holes are present, so it is intended for solid backup pads without dust-extraction ports. The blue-colored disc face aids in quick identification during disc changes on the shop floor.
Designed for use with 12-inch PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) backup pads on stationary disc sanders and large-format portable grinding machines that accept PSA-mount abrasive discs without vacuum ports.
Installation is performed by metal fabricators, machinists, or abrasives technicians. Power down and de-energize the sander completely before changing discs. Clean the backup pad surface of dust, debris, and adhesive residue before applying the new disc to ensure full PSA contact and prevent disc slippage during operation. Follow the machine manufacturer's maximum RPM rating and confirm the disc speed rating is not exceeded before starting the machine.
