The NORTON 66261138155 is a coated abrasive quick-change disc designed for high-speed material removal, deburring, cleaning, and surface detailing on metal workpieces. Part of the Gemini R766/R228 series, it features a 60-grit aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded to a flexible polyester cloth backing rated at X/Y weight. The disc measures 2 inches in diameter and is rated for a maximum of 30,000 RPM. It mounts via a TS (Type II) Type S attaching system for tool-free disc changes on compatible handheld disc sanders. The brown polyester cloth backing delivers durability and flexibility across a wide range of metal substrates.
This disc is suited for work on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard and soft carbon steels, and titanium. It is a practical choice for fabrication shops, weld finishing, and maintenance grinding tasks where fast disc changes and consistent cut rate matter. The handheld disc sander format makes it appropriate for bench work and field service applications where access to larger equipment is limited. The medium-coarse 60-grit cut level handles stock removal and surface prep efficiently before finer finishing steps.
Designed for use with handheld disc sanders equipped with a TS (Type II) Type S quick-change arbor system. Suitable for material removal and surface preparation on 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, and Titanium.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the sander powered off and disconnected from the power source. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30,000 RPM maximum rating before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows tears, cuts, or delamination. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating abrasive equipment.
