The NORTON 66261137458 is a 7-inch zirconia alumina fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal, weld seams, and rough surfaces. Part of the F826 series, it runs at a maximum of 8,600 RPM and uses a resinoid bond to hold the abrasive grain firmly during high-load grinding passes. The threaded arbor hole accepts a 5/8-11 threaded spindle mount, making connection to compatible back-up pads straightforward. At 80 grit, this disc falls in the medium grade range, suited for blending, deburring, and stock removal where a coarser disc would leave too aggressive a surface but a fine disc would cut too slowly.
This disc is used in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and field metalwork where angle grinders and right-angle disc sanders are the primary tools. It performs well on structural steel, stainless, aluminum, and other metals common in HVAC, plumbing, and general mechanical trade work. NORTON specifies use with the NORTON AVOS Speed-Lok Back-Up Pad for proper disc support and vibration control. The fiber backing provides rigidity without brittleness, allowing the disc to conform slightly to curved or irregular workpiece surfaces.
Designed for use with the NORTON AVOS Speed-Lok Back-Up Pad. Fits tools with a 5/8-11 threaded spindle arbor.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the grinder unplugged or the power source locked out. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 8,600 RPM maximum disc rating before use. Inspect the disc for cracks, chips, or delamination before mounting, and discard any disc showing visible damage. Always use the appropriate back-up pad as specified by the manufacturer to ensure full disc support and safe operation.
