The NORTON 66261136525 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) abrasive disc designed for surface grinding, blending, and finishing applications. This 2-inch disc uses aluminum oxide grain bonded to an X-weight cloth backing, which provides the rigidity and tear resistance required for aggressive material removal. The PSA mounting system allows for fast disc changes on compatible backup pads without mechanical fasteners. At 60 grit, it sits in the medium-grade range, making it well suited for stock removal, weld blending, and surface prep before finer finishing passes. The flexible construction allows the disc to conform slightly to irregular surfaces, improving contact and cut consistency across a range of workpiece geometries.
This disc is used in metal fabrication, welding shops, and general industrial finishing environments. It is appropriate for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, and the aluminum oxide abrasive provides durable cut life across a variety of substrates. Typical applications include deburring, rust removal, and interpass weld grinding. The 2-inch diameter fits small backup pads used on die grinders and right-angle grinders configured for PSA tooling. It is well suited for tight areas and detail work where larger discs cannot reach. This disc is part of the Norton R228 series.
Designed for use with 2-inch PSA-style backup pads on die grinders and small right-angle grinders. Specific machine compatibility depends on the backup pad diameter and arbor configuration of the tool in use.
Installation is performed by pressing the PSA-backed disc firmly onto a clean, dry, compatible backup pad — contamination on the pad face will reduce adhesion and shorten disc life. Ensure the grinder is powered off and disconnected from the air supply or electrical source before changing discs. Inspect the backup pad for wear or damage before mounting a new disc. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and wear appropriate eye and face protection during grinding operations.
