The NORTON 66261132730 is a 2-inch ceramic alumina coated quick-change abrasive disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal surfaces. Part of the Norton R983 series, it uses a premium ceramic alumina abrasive blend bonded to a polyester cloth backing with advanced grain adhesion technology. The self-lubricating grain treatment reduces heat buildup during extended grinding, and the extra coarse 36 grit rating delivers fast stock removal on tough ferrous metals. The Speed-Lok TR (Type III) attachment system allows rapid disc swaps on compatible handheld disc sanders without additional hardware. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators working in production or job-site environments install this disc as part of routine surface prep and weld cleanup workflows.
This disc is suited for use on 300 series stainless steel, 400 series stainless steel, cast iron, and soft carbon steels. It is intended for handheld disc sander applications where a quick-change Type R attaching system is in use. The 2-inch diameter and 36 grit make it a practical choice for weld seam blending, edge deburring, and surface conditioning tasks in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and field metalwork. Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 25 units.
Compatible with handheld disc sanders equipped with a Speed-Lok TR (Type III) or Type R quick-change attaching system. Rated for use on 300 series stainless steel, 400 series stainless steel, cast iron, and soft carbon steels.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by a qualified metalworking technician or trained fabricator. Always power down and disconnect the sander from its power source before mounting or removing the disc. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30,000 RPM maximum rating of the disc before operation. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and never use a damaged abrasive.
