The NORTON 66261121053 is a coated quick-change abrasive disc designed for aggressive stock removal, weld blending, and deburring across a wide range of metals and composites. Built on a heavy Y-weight polyester backing, this rigid disc delivers consistent cut rate and durability under sustained load. The zirconia alumina abrasive grain operates at a 60 grit (medium-coarse) cut level, making it well suited to rapid material removal without excessive heat buildup. A self-lubricating treatment reduces friction during grinding, extending disc life and protecting workpiece surfaces. The disc mounts via Speed-Lok TR (Type III) compatibility, fitting standard Type R quick-change systems on handheld disc sanders. Rated to 20,000 RPM and measuring 3 inches in diameter, it is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 25 units.
This disc is intended for use on handheld disc sanders in industrial, fabrication, and maintenance settings. It performs across 300 and 400 series stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard and soft carbon steels, fiberglass and composites, and hard and soft woods. Typical applications include weld seam blending on stainless, surface prep on structural steel, and deburring on nonferrous metals. The rigid polyester backing maintains consistent contact geometry on flat and near-flat surfaces, making it a practical choice for production grinding where disc life and cut consistency matter.
Designed for Speed-Lok TR (Type III) quick-change attachment systems on handheld disc sanders. Compatible with Type R quick-change disc pads. Suitable for material applications including 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Fiberglass and Composites, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Hard Woods, and Soft Woods.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by a qualified operator with the tool unpowered and disconnected from its power source. Verify that the backing pad is rated to at least 20,000 RPM before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc that shows cracks, tears, or separation of the backing. Always wear appropriate eye, face, and hand protection during grinding operations.
