The NORTON 66261121032 is a quick-change coated abrasive disc from the Gemini R766/R228 series, designed for fast material removal and surface conditioning on metal workpieces. Built on a flexible, X/Y-weight, 2-ply cloth and polyester backing, it accepts a Type R or TR (Type III) Speed-Lok attachment for tool-free disc changes on handheld disc sanders. At 50 grit, this coarse-grade disc cuts aggressively through scale, weld spatter, and surface contaminants. It is rated to 20,000 RPM and measures 3 inches in diameter. Aluminum oxide abrasive provides consistent cut throughout the disc life across a wide range of metals.
This disc is suited for deburring, cleaning, and detailing work on stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, soft and hard carbon steels, and titanium. The Speed-Lok TR quick-change system makes it practical for production environments and field service work where disc swaps happen frequently. Typical users include metalworkers, fabricators, maintenance technicians, and industrial finishing professionals who work with handheld disc sanders on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The brown cloth backing and flexible construction allow the disc to conform slightly to irregular or curved surfaces during use.
Designed for use with handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type R or TR (Type III) Speed-Lok quick-change backing pad. Compatible material applications include 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, aluminum, brass, bronze, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, and titanium.
Installation is performed by pressing the disc button onto a compatible Type R or TR Speed-Lok backing pad until it seats securely. Always verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM disc rating before operation. Wear appropriate eye and face protection when operating any abrasive disc. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and replace immediately if tearing, delamination, or backing damage is observed.
