The NORTON 66261121022 is a quick-change abrasive disc engineered for high-speed material removal and surface finishing in demanding trade and fabrication environments. Part of the Gemini R766/R228 series, it uses an aluminum oxide abrasive bonded to a heavy-duty X/Y-weight two-ply cloth and polyester backing. At 60 grit, it sits in the medium-to-coarse range, making it effective for deburring, cleaning, and detailing work on stainless steel, soft metals, and hard carbon steels. The disc mounts via a Speed-Lok TR (Type III) quick-change attaching system, reducing tool changeover time for handheld disc sander operators. Maximum rated speed is 30,000 RPM.
This disc is suited for metal fabrication shops, maintenance technicians, and trade professionals working on 300 and 400 series stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, titanium, and both hard and soft carbon steels. The flexible cloth-backed construction conforms to slightly contoured surfaces, making it practical for deburring edges, blending weld seams, and light surface preparation. It is designed for use with handheld disc sanders fitted with a Type R or TR quick-change hub. The X/Y-weight two-ply backing resists tearing under aggressive grinding angles and lateral pressure.
Designed for use with handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type R or TR (Type III) quick-change hub. Rated for material application on 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, and Titanium. Part of the NORTON Gemini R766/R228 series.
Installation is performed by metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, or machinists using a compatible quick-change handheld disc sander. Before mounting or removing the disc, ensure the sander is powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30,000 RPM rating marked on the disc. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating abrasive discs at speed.
