The NORTON 66261119267 is a Type 29 flap disc designed for aggressive material removal and surface blending on metal workpieces. Built with zirconia alumina abrasive at 80 grit (medium grade), it delivers consistent cut rates and extended disc life compared to standard aluminum oxide options. The fiberglass backing plate provides rigid support for the overlapping abrasive flaps, allowing the disc to maintain contact angle and resist flex under load. Rated to 13,000 RPM, it mounts via a standard 7/8 inch arbor hole and is compatible with 4.5 inch angle grinders. Fabricators, welders, pipefitters, and metalworkers rely on this disc for weld blending, deburring, and surface preparation tasks.
This flap disc is suited for use on mild steel, stainless steel, and other ferrous metals in fabrication shops, field welding environments, and manufacturing settings. The Type 29 conical design angles the abrasive surface toward the workpiece, concentrating grinding pressure and improving stock removal efficiency on flat and contoured surfaces. It is part of NORTON's R822 series. Installation requires a 4.5 inch angle grinder with a 7/8 inch arbor. The disc is not trimmable and is sold individually.
Designed for use with 4.5 inch angle grinders fitted with a 7/8 inch arbor. Intended for grinding and blending applications on ferrous metal surfaces.
Installation is performed by qualified tradespeople including fabricators, welders, and metalworkers. Always power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing the disc. Confirm the grinder's rated RPM meets or does not exceed the disc's 13,000 RPM maximum before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not operate a cracked or compromised disc.
