The NORTON 662611-38582 is a zirconia alumina fiber disc built for aggressive stock removal on metal, stainless steel, and other hard materials. Based on the NorZon F826 abrasive specification, this disc uses zirconia alumina grain, which is harder and more durable than standard aluminum oxide, making it well suited for sustained grinding and blending under pressure. At 50 grit, it delivers fast cutting action while managing heat buildup. This disc measures 9-1/8 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole and is sold in packages of 25. Fabricators, welders, and metal finishing shops are the primary users.
This fiber disc is used in angle grinder applications where high-pressure, flat grinding or blending is required. At 50 grit, it is appropriate for weld removal, scale removal, edge deburring, and surface prep on carbon steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. The 9-1/8-inch diameter is commonly used on larger angle grinders in industrial fabrication and manufacturing environments. It is also suitable for pipe fabrication and structural steel work where aggressive material removal is needed before finishing passes.
Designed for use with angle grinders accepting a 9-1/8-inch fiber disc and a 7/8-inch arbor. Verify maximum RPM rating of the grinder against disc specifications before mounting.
Installation of fiber discs should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with angle grinder safety. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing a disc. Inspect the disc for cracks, chips, or damage before each use and discard any disc that shows signs of wear or deformation. Follow ANSI B7.1 and tool manufacturer guidelines for maximum operating speed and proper backing pad selection.
