The NORTON 662611-38562 is a zirconia alumina fiber disc engineered for aggressive material removal on metal, weld seams, and tough fabrication surfaces. Built on the NorZon F826 abrasive platform, this disc uses a zirconia alumina grain that self-sharpens during use, maintaining a consistent cut rate throughout the disc life. At 36 grit, it is suited for heavy stock removal, surface conditioning, and weld blending. The 5-inch diameter and 7/8-inch arbor hole make it compatible with standard angle grinders used in metal fabrication, structural steel work, and industrial maintenance. Sold in a quantity of 25 discs per package.
This disc is intended for use on ferrous metals, stainless steel, and other hard materials where fast, controlled stock removal is required. It fits into grinding workflows in manufacturing, shipbuilding, pipeline work, and heavy equipment repair. The coarse 36 grit designation makes it appropriate for initial weld cleanup, deburring heavy flash, and removing mill scale before finishing operations. Professional metal fabricators, pipefitters, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users of this product.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fiber disc for use with 5-inch angle grinders and disc grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor. Suitable for use on ferrous metals, stainless steel, and similar hard materials.
Installation and operation of fiber discs should be performed by qualified metal fabricators or grinding equipment operators familiar with abrasive safety standards. Always power down and disconnect the grinder from its power source before mounting or removing a disc. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and do not exceed the maximum RPM rating of the disc or the grinder, whichever is lower. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield, gloves, and hearing protection during grinding operations.
