The NORTON 662611-36354 is an 8-inch adhesive-back cloth disc designed for aggressive material removal and surface finishing on a wide range of substrates. Constructed with an aluminum oxide abrasive grain (Type R228), this disc delivers consistent cut and durability across metal, wood, and composite surfaces. The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing allows for fast, tool-free mounting to compatible backup pads. At 80-X grit, it sits in the coarse range, making it well-suited for stock removal, weld blending, and surface preparation tasks where speed of cut matters. These discs are sold by the unit within a minimum order quantity of 250 per case.
These cloth discs are used in industrial, fabrication, and finishing environments where a durable, resin-bonded abrasive is required. Typical applications include grinding and blending on structural steel, deburring fabricated components, and prepping surfaces before coating or welding. The R228 aluminum oxide construction holds up under moderate heat and pressure, making it appropriate for sustained production use on metalworking or woodworking equipment with disc-style platens or orbital sanders.
Designed for use with adhesive-back (PSA) disc backup pads and platen assemblies that accept 8-inch cloth discs. Confirm backup pad diameter and PSA compatibility before installation.
Power down and disconnect the sander or finishing machine before mounting or removing discs. Clean the backup pad surface of debris and old adhesive residue to ensure proper disc adhesion. Press the disc firmly onto the pad from the center outward to eliminate air pockets. Inspect the disc for tears or edge lifting before resuming operation, and replace immediately if damage is found.
