The NORTON 662611-31596 is a Speed-Grip hook-and-loop paper abrasive disc engineered for random orbital and disc sanders used in surface preparation and finishing applications. Built on the A275 paper backing series, this disc delivers consistent cut rate and scratch pattern at P180B grit, making it well-suited for fine sanding passes on wood, painted surfaces, and composites. The 6-inch diameter disc features a 6-hole vacuum pattern that channels dust away from the work surface through a connected dust collection system, keeping the abrasive clear and extending disc life. Each package contains 100 discs sold as a unit quantity.
This disc is commonly used by finish carpenters, painters, auto body technicians, and general contractors performing surface preparation work on flat and gently contoured panels. The P180B grit is appropriate for intermediate to finish sanding stages, where the goal is removing light scratches from previous grits and preparing the surface for primer, sealer, or topcoat. The vacuum port alignment supports use with standard 6-hole random orbital sanders paired with dust extraction equipment, making it suitable for both shop and on-site environments where dust control is required.
Designed for use with 6-inch, 6-hole hook-and-loop random orbital sanders equipped with dust collection ports. Confirm sander hole pattern alignment before use.
Disc replacement is performed by finish carpenters, painters, auto body technicians, or general tradespeople — no licensed trade certification is typically required. Power down and disconnect the sander from its power source before changing discs. Press the Speed-Grip disc firmly onto the sander pad to ensure full hook-and-loop engagement before operation. Inspect the backing pad for wear regularly, as a degraded pad surface will reduce disc adhesion and increase the risk of disc separation during use.
