The NORTON 662611-31561 is a Speed-Grip pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) paper disc designed for power sanding applications in finishing and surface preparation work. Built on an A275 paper backing, this 6-inch disc uses a P220B grit designation, placing it in the fine-grit range suited for finish sanding, light material removal, and surface smoothing before coating or sealing. These discs are sold in bulk quantities of 100 per pack and are intended for use by professional finishers, automotive body technicians, woodworkers, and metal fabricators who require consistent cut and finish quality across high-volume production or service environments.
This disc is appropriate for use on wood, metal, composites, and painted surfaces where controlled stock removal and a smooth finish profile are required. The no-hole configuration means the disc does not support through-the-disc dust extraction, making it best suited for applications where a vacuum shroud or open-air sanding is acceptable. Typical install scenarios include cabinet shops, body shops, and general manufacturing or maintenance environments where rotary or random-orbit PSA sanders are in regular use.
Designed for use with 6-inch PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) sanding pads on rotary and random-orbit sanders that accept no-hole disc configurations.
Installation is performed by pressing the PSA-backed disc firmly onto a clean, dry 6-inch sanding pad, ensuring full surface contact to prevent edge lift during operation. Inspect the backing pad surface before attachment — contamination or worn pad material will reduce adhesion and disc life. Operate the sander within the speed rating of the disc and sander combination. Remove and discard discs when grit loading or glazing reduces cut performance; do not attempt to clean and reuse loaded abrasive discs.
