The NORTON 662611-31495 is a 5-inch hook-and-loop sanding disc designed for use with random orbital and dual-action sanders equipped with 5-hole vacuum extraction. Part of the A275 line, this disc is loaded with P150B grit abrasive, placing it in the fine-grit range suitable for intermediate stock removal and surface preparation before finish coats. The A275 series uses a premium aluminum oxide grain on a film backing that resists loading and extends disc life compared to standard paper-backed alternatives. Sold in a minimum quantity of 6 discs per unit of measure, making it practical for production or multi-job use.
These discs are well suited for body shop technicians, finish carpenters, cabinet makers, and general contractors performing wood, composite, or light metal surface preparation. The P150B grit is a common intermediate step in multi-stage sanding sequences, used after coarser grits to refine scratch patterns before moving to finishing grits or applying primer. The 5-hole vacuum pattern channels dust away from the work surface during operation, improving visibility and reducing airborne particulate.
Designed for use with 5-inch random orbital and dual-action sanders that accept hook-and-loop discs with a 5-hole vacuum pattern.
Align the vacuum holes on the disc with the corresponding ports on the sander pad before pressing the hook-and-loop backing firmly into place. Inspect the pad backing for wear before attaching a new disc, as a worn pad reduces adhesion and can cause disc separation during use. Operate with a dust collector or vacuum system connected to maximize the benefit of the vacuum extraction holes and maintain a clean work surface.
