The NORTON 662611-23590 is a Speed-Grip paper abrasive disc designed for aggressive material removal in sanding and grinding applications. Measuring 6 inches in diameter with no center hole, this disc uses an H875 backing and 36-grit abrasive to deliver coarse stock removal on wood, metal, composites, and painted surfaces. Sold in packs of 25, these discs are suited for production environments where consistent, fast cutting is required. The Speed-Grip attachment system allows for quick disc changes on compatible random orbital and disc sanders without the need for adhesives or pressure-sensitive backing.
These 36-grit discs are intended for heavy material removal tasks such as paint stripping, weld leveling, rough shaping, and surface preparation before finer finishing stages. The coarse grit makes them appropriate for initial passes on hardwoods, softwoods, and ferrous or non-ferrous metals. They are commonly used in woodworking shops, metal fabrication, auto body prep, and general maintenance environments where speed of cut outweighs surface finish requirements.
Designed for use with 6-inch random orbital sanders and disc sanders equipped with a Speed-Grip or hook-and-loop compatible platen accepting no-hole disc configurations.
Ensure the sander is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing discs. Align the disc flat against the sanding pad and press firmly to engage the Speed-Grip backing before operation. Inspect the pad face for wear or debris that could prevent secure adhesion. Follow all applicable safety guidelines for abrasive tool use, including use of eye protection and dust collection where required.
