The NORTON 662611-23589 is a Speed-Grip hook-and-loop paper abrasive disc designed for aggressive material removal on wood, painted surfaces, and composites. At 40 grit, this disc cuts fast and is well-suited for initial stock removal, stripping old finishes, and leveling uneven surfaces before moving to finer grits. The 6-inch diameter with no center hole keeps the full disc face available for sanding. These discs are sold in packs of 25 and are a standard production consumable for finish carpenters, painters, auto body techs, and general woodworking shops.
This disc is engineered for use with 6-inch hook-and-loop random orbital and disc sanders. The H875 backing type provides durability under moderate to heavy sanding pressure. At 40 grit, the disc is appropriate for heavy stock removal passes in residential and light commercial finishing work. The no-hole configuration means it is intended for sanders without dust extraction ports, or for applications where vacuum extraction is not a priority.
Designed as a replacement consumable disc for 6-inch hook-and-loop random orbital and finishing sanders without dust-port configurations.
Installation is performed by the operator — press the disc firmly onto the sander pad to fully engage the hook-and-loop interface before starting the tool. Inspect the sander backing pad for wear before mounting a new disc, as a degraded pad reduces disc adhesion and can cause the disc to detach during use. Disconnect or power down the sander before mounting or removing any disc. Follow applicable shop safety practices including eye and respiratory protection when sanding at 40 grit, which generates coarse dust.
