The NORTON 662611-19268 is a Type 29 angle-face flap disc engineered for aggressive material removal on metal fabrication and grinding applications. Built around a Zirconia Alumina abrasive in a 60-grit configuration, it delivers consistent cut rate and extended disc life compared to standard aluminum oxide alternatives. The conical, angled face profile of the Type 29 design increases surface contact during edge and bevel work, making it well suited for weld blending, deburring, and surface conditioning. Each case contains 5 discs, sized at 4.5 inches x 7/8 inches, fitting standard angle grinders used daily by metalworkers, pipefitters, and fabricators.
This flap disc is used in residential and commercial metal fabrication shops, pipe and structural steel work, and general maintenance grinding tasks. The Type 29 geometry is the preferred choice when working at a tilted angle to the workpiece, such as blending welds on flat plate or tube stock. The 60-grit rating makes it appropriate for initial stock removal and weld seam leveling before transitioning to finer finishing steps. Sold per case of 5 discs.
Designed for use with standard angle grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor and accommodating a 4.5-inch diameter disc.
Flap disc installation and use should follow the grinder manufacturer's rated RPM specifications — never mount a disc on a tool whose maximum RPM exceeds the disc's rating. Always inspect the disc for damage before mounting and ensure the arbor nut is properly tightened with the appropriate wrench. Operators should wear appropriate PPE including face shield, gloves, and hearing protection during use. Disconnect or de-energize the grinder before mounting or removing any abrasive disc.
