The NORTON 66261058704 is a coated abrasive fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal, welds, and castings. Part of the F980 series, it uses a ceramic alumina abrasive grain bonded to a vulcanized fiber backing. The 36 grit, very coarse grade delivers fast stock removal and is suited for grinding, blending, and deburring applications. At 0.02 pounds, the disc is lightweight and intended for use with a compatible rubber or plastic backing pad mounted on an angle grinder or die grinder. Fabricators and metalworkers rely on this type of disc for high-pressure, edge-breaking work where rapid material takedown is the priority.
This fiber disc is used in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and field metalwork. The 2 inch diameter and 1/4 inch center hole make it a fit for compact angle grinders and die grinders where a small-diameter disc is required. The very coarse 36 grit rating is appropriate for removing mill scale, rust, weld spatter, and surface defects on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 25 units, making it practical for shop stocking or fleet service use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement coated fiber disc for use with compatible 2 inch rubber or plastic backing pads on angle grinders and die grinders accepting a 1/4 inch arbor.
Fiber discs must be mounted on a matched backing pad rated for the grinder RPM before use. Disconnect and de-energize the grinder before installing or removing a disc. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and never operate a damaged disc. Proper backing pad selection and secure mounting are essential to safe operation in accordance with applicable ANSI and OSHA abrasive wheel standards.
