The NORTON 66261055250 is a convolute deburring wheel designed for edge finishing, deburring, and light surface blending on metal workpieces. Built with a silicon carbide abrasive in a hard density grade 8 construction, this wheel delivers consistent cutting action across its 1-inch face width. It is rated for a maximum of 4,500 RPM, making it suited for standard bench and pedestal grinder applications. Fabricators, machinists, and metalworkers use this type of wheel when a controlled, repeatable cut is needed without aggressive stock removal. The convolute design compresses and releases as it contacts the part, providing a more consistent finish than laminated or flap-style alternatives.
This wheel is intended for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders in production and job-shop environments. At 6 inches in diameter with a 1-inch center hole mounting, it fits a wide range of standard grinder arbors. Silicon carbide abrasive is particularly well suited for deburring non-ferrous metals, cast iron, and harder non-metallic materials. The medium grade with a density 8 hard rating provides enough rigidity for consistent edge work while still conforming slightly to part contours during contact.
Designed for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders. Center hole size of 1 inch fits standard grinder arbors common to both tool types.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the grinder manufacturer's arbor mounting procedures. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing any wheel. Verify that the grinder's rated spindle speed meets or exceeds the wheel's 4,500 RPM maximum before operation. Inspect the wheel for visible damage before each use and never exceed the marked maximum RPM.
