The NORTON 66261055223 is a convolute deburring wheel designed for controlled material removal on metal workpieces. Built with silicon carbide abrasive at a fine grade and density 7 hard rating, it delivers consistent cutting action for deburring, blending, and light surface finishing. The convolute construction bonds abrasive layers in a wound configuration, maintaining an even cut throughout the life of the wheel. At a rated maximum speed of 4,500 RPM, it is sized at 6 inches in diameter with a 1-inch face width and a 1-inch center hole for direct mounting on standard spindle arbors. Weighing 0.67 pounds, it suits both bench and pedestal grinder setups.
This wheel is appropriate for deburring, edge blending, and surface conditioning on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in shop and maintenance environments. The silicon carbide abrasive is well suited for harder, more brittle materials where sharp cutting action is preferred over a softer aluminum oxide grain. Typical applications include cleaning up machined edges, weld spatter removal, and preparation of part surfaces before finishing. Compatible tooling includes bench grinders and pedestal grinders with the appropriate arbor size and guarding for wheel diameter and rated speed.
Designed for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders equipped with proper guarding and an arbor accommodating a 1-inch center hole and 6-inch wheel diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel mounting. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 4,500 RPM wheel rating before operation. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage prior to mounting and conduct a ring test where applicable.
