The NORTON 66261051719 is a mounted flap wheel designed for surface conditioning, blending, and light deburring on metal and fabricated components. Built with aluminum oxide non-woven abrasive material and rated at a very fine grade, this wheel delivers consistent scratch patterns and controlled material removal without aggressive cutting. It mounts via a 1/4-inch shank for use in electric or pneumatic die grinders and rotary tools. The 3-inch diameter and 1-inch face width make it well suited for working larger flat or contoured surfaces where a smaller flap wheel would require excessive passes. Maximum operating speed is 12,000 RPM.
This mounted flap wheel is used in metalworking, fabrication, and finishing applications where surface prep, weld blending, or pre-paint conditioning is required. The non-woven aluminum oxide construction conforms to irregular surfaces and curved profiles, making it a practical choice for machinists, welders, and metal fabricators working on steel, stainless, and aluminum workpieces. The very fine grade is appropriate for finishing passes rather than heavy stock removal. It is sold individually and is compatible with standard 1/4-inch collet die grinders.
Designed for use with die grinders and rotary tools fitted with a 1/4-inch collet. Suitable for surface conditioning applications on metal substrates including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
Installation and use should be performed by personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety practices. Before mounting, confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 12,000 RPM rating marked on the wheel. Secure the 1/4-inch shank fully into the collet before operation and inspect the wheel for damage prior to each use. Always wear appropriate eye and face protection, and ensure the workpiece is properly secured before applying the wheel.
