The NORTON 66261043384 is a 2-inch ceramic alumina quick-change coated abrasive disc designed for aggressive material removal on stainless steel and other hard metals. It uses a Type S (Speed-Lok TS) attachment system for tool-free disc changes on compatible handheld disc sanders. The R980P series disc features 100% ceramic grain that continuously fractures to expose sharper cutting edges, a resin bond system that maximizes grain retention under load, and a self-lubricating grain treatment that reduces heat buildup at the workpiece. At 120 grit, this disc is rated Fine to Medium grade and is suited for controlled stock removal, weld blending, and deburring on precision alloy surfaces. Maximum rated speed is 30,000 RPM. The polyester Y-weight backing resists tearing and flexing under sustained use.
This disc is engineered for use on 300 series and 400 series stainless steel in applications where heat control and surface finish are critical. It is compatible with handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type S quick-change attachment. Typical use cases include weld seam blending, burr removal, and surface conditioning in fabrication, maintenance, and repair environments. The 2-inch diameter makes it well-suited for tight contours, pipe welds, and confined work areas where larger discs cannot reach. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 25 units.
Compatible with handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type S (Speed-Lok TS) quick-change attachment system. Rated for use on 300 series and 400 series stainless steel per manufacturer specification.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the sander powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify the disc is fully seated and locked onto the Type S hub before operation. Never exceed the rated maximum speed of 30,000 RPM. Inspect the disc before each use and discard any disc that shows signs of cracking, tearing, or delamination.
