The NORTON 66261024310 is a 1-inch diameter, non-woven quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series. It uses aluminum oxide grain bonded with Clean Bond resin technology to deliver smear-free finishes and a higher cut rate than standard non-woven discs. The disc mounts via a TS (Type II) Type S attaching system for fast, tool-free swaps on handheld disc sanders. A high-loft polyester and nylon web backing provides flexibility and extended service life. Coarse grit (50) makes this disc well-suited for moderate material removal on a wide range of metals and composites. Maximum operating speed is 40000 RPM. Each unit weighs approximately 0.003 pounds.
This disc is designed for use on handheld disc sanders in both shop and field environments. The coarse, 50-grit aluminum oxide construction handles moderate stock removal and surface conditioning tasks across a broad range of substrates including stainless steel, carbon steels, cast iron, ductile iron, brass, bronze, copper, titanium, tool steels, super alloys, and fiberglass or composite materials. It is a practical choice for metal fabrication, maintenance, and surface prep work where a flexible, conformable disc is needed to follow contoured or flat workpiece geometry.
Designed for use with handheld disc sanders that accept TS (Type II) Type S quick-change attachments. Compatible material applications include 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Brass, Bronze, Cast Iron, Copper, Ductile Iron, Fiberglass and Composites, Gray Iron, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Super Alloys, Titanium, and Tool Steels.
Install and remove the disc only when the tool is powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify the spindle speed of the sander does not exceed the 40000 RPM maximum rating marked on the disc before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and replace immediately if tears, delamination, or hub damage are present. Follow applicable ANSI B7 and OSHA abrasive wheel safety standards when mounting and operating quick-change abrasive discs.
