The NORTON 66261018640 is a convolute deburring wheel built for aggressive edge finishing and surface conditioning on metal workpieces. It carries a silicon carbide abrasive at a Fine grade with a Density 8 Hard rating, making it well suited for fast stock removal on harder materials while still producing a consistent surface finish. The wheel runs up to 3,650 RPM and is compatible with bench and pedestal grinders. At 8 inches in diameter with a 1-inch face width and a 3-inch center hole, it mounts directly to standard arbors found on shop grinders. Licensed tradespeople and experienced machinists rely on this type of wheel for deburring, blending, and light surface prep on ferrous and non-ferrous parts.
This wheel is designed for shop and production-floor use where consistent deburring and edge conditioning are required on cast, machined, or fabricated metal components. Its convolute construction layers abrasive material uniformly throughout the wheel, so performance remains consistent as the wheel wears down. Mounting and dressing of grinding and deburring wheels should be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B7.1 safety standards. Power down and lock out the grinder before installing or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and never exceed the rated maximum RPM marked on the wheel. Use the appropriate flanges and blotters sized for the wheel bore, and run the wheel at operating speed in a guarded position for at least one minute before bringing it into contact with a workpiece.
