The NORTON 66261013403 is a 3-inch quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Strip series, designed for aggressive coating removal and surface preparation across a wide range of substrates. Built on a rigid non-woven backing with sharp silicon carbide abrasive and an advanced resin bond, this disc delivers fast cutting action at an extra coarse grade. The open web construction prevents loading and helps maintain consistent cut rate throughout the disc life. It mounts via a Type R (Speed-Lok TR) attaching system and is rated to 20,000 RPM. Installers, fabricators, and surface prep crews use it with handheld disc sanders for fast, controlled stripping.
This disc is suited for stripping coatings, rust, scale, and oxidation from aluminum, concrete, masonry, natural stone, asphalt, hard woods, soft woods, tile, and drywall. The extra coarse grade makes it particularly effective in heavy-material-removal applications before finishing or resurfacing work. Its rigid non-woven construction conforms minimally to the work surface, concentrating abrasive contact for faster stock removal on flat and near-flat surfaces. Typical applications include prep work in construction, light fabrication, and restoration trades.
Designed for use with handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type R (Speed-Lok TR) quick-change mounting system. Compatible material applications include aluminum, asphalt, concrete, hard woods, masonry, natural stone, soft woods, tile, and drywall.
Mount and dismount the disc only when the tool is powered off and unplugged or the air supply is disconnected. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM disc rating before operation. Inspect the disc for tears or delamination before each use and discard any damaged disc immediately. Eye protection and appropriate respiratory protection should be worn when stripping coatings or working on masonry and concrete substrates.
