The NORTON 66261006913 is an 8-inch hook-and-loop abrasive disc designed for surface preparation, blending, and finishing work across a range of materials. It uses aluminum oxide as the abrasive material in a non-woven construction, which provides consistent cut and surface contact throughout the disc's life. The coarse 50-grit rating makes it well suited for aggressive stock removal and initial surface conditioning. The flexible disc body conforms to contoured workpieces, reducing pressure points and improving abrasive contact. Installation is straightforward on any hook-and-loop backup pad of the correct diameter. This disc is used by tradespeople and fabricators who require reliable, repeatable abrasive performance on metal, composite, and wood substrates.
This disc is intended for use with random orbital and right-angle sanders equipped with hook-and-loop backup pads sized for an 8-inch disc. The coarse grit makes it appropriate for weld blending, rust removal, paint stripping, and surface leveling prior to finer finishing steps. The non-woven construction maintains an open abrasive structure that resists loading, keeping the disc cutting efficiently longer than conventional coated abrasives in heavy material removal applications. No vacuum holes are present on this disc, so it is suited for use without dust extraction through the pad.
Designed for use with hook-and-loop random orbital or right-angle sanders accepting 8-inch abrasive discs. No vacuum-hole pattern present; use with solid or non-perforated backup pads.
Power down and disconnect the sander from its power source before mounting or removing the disc. Press the disc firmly and evenly onto the hook-and-loop backup pad to ensure full engagement across the surface. Do not exceed the rated maximum speed of 7,000 RPM. Inspect the disc for tears or delamination before each use and replace immediately if damage is found.
