The NORTON 66261006910 is a 6-inch non-woven hook and loop abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, blending, and finishing work across metal, wood, and composite surfaces. It uses aluminum oxide abrasive material in a coarse grade, making it effective for aggressive stock removal, rust and paint stripping, and surface preparation before coating or welding. The flexible, non-woven construction conforms to irregular contours and reduces the risk of gouging on workpieces. Attachment is via a hook and loop backing, allowing fast disc changes without adhesive. This disc weighs approximately 0.12 pounds per unit.
This disc is suited for use in fabrication shops, maintenance and repair operations, and general metalworking environments. The coarse grade makes it a go-to choice for initial surface prep on steel, aluminum, and similar materials. It is compatible with 6-inch hook and loop random orbital sanders, disc sanders, and right-angle grinders fitted with a compatible backing pad. No vacuum holes are included, so it is intended for use on machines without dust-extraction port requirements.
Designed as a replacement or consumable disc for 6-inch hook and loop random orbital sanders, disc grinders, and backing pads that accept non-woven abrasive discs without vacuum holes.
Ensure the tool is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing the disc. Press the disc firmly onto the hook and loop backing pad to ensure full engagement across the face before operating. Inspect the backing pad for wear or contamination that could cause uneven seating. Always operate within the maximum RPM rating of both the disc and the tool.
