The NORTON 662610-55331 is a Bear-Tex Rapid Prep non-woven abrasive belt designed for benchstand and stationary belt finishing applications. It measures 6 inches wide by 48 inches long and uses an aluminum oxide abrasive grain at 120 grit, medium grade. The Y-weight polyester backing provides low-stretch, high-flex performance suited to consistent surface conditioning work. The maroon non-woven construction delivers controlled cut and finish on metal surfaces without the aggressive stock removal of coated abrasives. Metal fabricators, welders, and finishing technicians use this belt for deburring, blending, and surface prep on production benchstands.
This belt is intended for surface conditioning on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments. The non-woven structure conforms to irregular contours, making it well suited for work on tubing, flat stock, and shaped components. Applicable materials include aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, and other exotic alloys. The 4-belt box quantity is standard for production use where belt changes occur frequently.
Designed for use on benchstand and stationary belt finishing machines accepting 6 inch x 48 inch belts. Suitable for surface conditioning on aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, and other exotic alloys.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator with the machine powered off and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Confirm belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or separation before each use. Always use appropriate eye protection and respiratory protection when grinding or finishing metal surfaces.
