The NORTON 662610-51719 is a flap wheel abrasive designed for surface finishing, blending, and light material removal on metal, wood, and composite surfaces. Measuring 3 inches in diameter by 1 inch wide with a 1/4 inch arbor bore, it mounts directly to die grinders, drill presses, and rotary tools for consistent, controlled stock removal. The very fine grit rating makes this wheel suited for final-pass finishing and surface prep work where a smooth, uniform surface profile is required. Sold individually, it is a standard consumable stocked by metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians.
This flap wheel is used in applications requiring controlled surface finishing rather than aggressive stock removal. The 3 x 1 inch wheel profile and 1/4 inch arbor sizing fit common handheld and benchtop rotary tools used in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and production finishing lines. Very fine grit is appropriate for deburring light edges, blending weld seams after coarser passes, and preparing surfaces ahead of coating or inspection. Minimum order quantity is 20 units per box, making it practical for shop restocking.
Designed for use with rotary tools, die grinders, and drill presses accepting a 1/4 inch arbor shank. Confirm spindle speed rating of the host tool is appropriate for abrasive flap wheel use before mounting.
Mounting and use of abrasive flap wheels should follow ANSI B7.1 safety standards for grinding wheels and abrasives. Power down and disconnect or lock out the rotary tool before mounting or changing the wheel. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the rated maximum RPM for the abrasive. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required during operation.
