The NORTON 66260392655 is a cubic boron nitride (CBN) electroplated mounted point designed for precision grinding and finishing on hard ferrous materials. The ball-shaped abrasive head measures 0.282 inches in diameter and 0.25 inches in thickness, mounted on a 0.25-inch shank with an overall length of 3.0 inches. At 200 grit, this fine-grade point delivers controlled material removal with a smooth surface finish. It is used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and grinding specialists who require consistent performance on hardened steels, tool steels, and similar workpieces.
This mounted point is suited for internal grinding, die work, mold finishing, and detail grinding on CNC machines, die grinders, and bench grinders equipped with a collet or chuck accepting a 0.25-inch shank. The fine 200-grit CBN electroplated abrasive is particularly effective where conventional aluminum oxide or silicon carbide wheels wear too quickly. Applications include finishing hardened bores, recesses, and complex profiles where tight tolerances are required. The silver color identifies the CBN electroplated bond system used in this series.
Designed for use in die grinders, CNC tool post grinders, and precision bench grinders accepting a 0.25-inch shank mounted point. Verify spindle speed rating of the machine does not exceed the rated RPM of the mounted point before use.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding specialist. Power down and de-energize the machine before mounting or removing the point. Secure the 0.25-inch shank firmly in the collet or chuck and confirm it is fully seated with no runout before starting. Always dress and inspect the grinding work area for clearances, and confirm machine spindle speed is within the allowable range for the mounted point diameter and bond type.
