The NORTON 66260392626 is a cubic boron nitride (CBN) electroplated mounted point designed for precision grinding and finishing of hardened steels and ferrous materials. Built in a cylinder profile (Point Shape Code 1156FC), this mounted point carries a 200/230 fine grit rating applied through an electroplating process that bonds abrasive crystals directly to the shank and head. The 0.156-inch head diameter and 1/8-inch shank diameter make it well suited for small-bore, detailed, and contour grinding work where control and access are critical. At 0.05 pounds, it fits standard rotary tool and die grinder collets for quick changeover.
This mounted point is used in toolroom, maintenance, and production grinding applications involving hardened steel, carbide-adjacent surfaces, and other difficult-to-grind ferrous materials. It is appropriate for both bench-mounted rotary machines and handheld die grinders. Typical applications include port grinding, mold finishing, deburring, and sharpening operations where a small-format, high-hardness abrasive is required. The fine 200/230 grit rating produces a controlled surface finish with minimal stock removal per pass.
Designed for use with rotary die grinders and tool grinders accepting a 1/8-inch shank mounted point. Verify spindle speed rating of the host tool against the mounted point's rated maximum RPM before use.
Installation should be performed by a machinist, toolroom technician, or qualified grinding professional. Power down and lock out the grinder before inserting or removing the mounted point from the collet. Inspect the point for cracks or abrasive separation before each use — do not use a damaged point. Follow ANSI B11 and OSHA 1910.215 grinding safety standards for guarding and speed compliance.
