The NORTON 66260273594 is a Type 1A1 diamond surface grinding wheel designed for precision material removal and finishing on hard workpiece materials. Built with a synthetic diamond abrasive bonded in a resinoid matrix, this wheel delivers consistent cutting action across roughing and finishing operations. It measures 4 inches in diameter, 0.5 inches thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole and a 0.25 inch superabrasive depth. At 150 grit Very Fine grade, it suits applications where surface finish quality is as important as material removal rate. The resinoid bond and Soft hardness rating (R) allow the wheel to release abrasive grains efficiently under load, reducing heat buildup during wet operation.
This wheel is intended for wet surface grinding applications in tool rooms, production grinding operations, and maintenance shops. Its Type 1A1 straight profile fits surface grinders and bench-mounted grinding fixtures used by machinists, tool and die makers, and precision grinding technicians. The SD150-R100B99-1/4 specification indicates 100 concentration synthetic diamond abrasive in a resinoid bond, making it well-suited for roughing and finishing hard or brittle materials including carbide, ceramics, and hardened steels where conventional abrasive wheels wear too quickly.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit grinding wheel for surface grinders accepting a Type 1A1 wheel with a 4 inch diameter, 0.5 inch thickness, and 1-1/4 inch arbor hole bore.
Surface grinding wheels must be installed and dressed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician following ANSI B11.22 and applicable shop safety standards. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and perform a ring test per ANSI procedures. Use appropriate flanges and a blotter to ensure even clamping, and never exceed the wheel's rated maximum operating speed.
