The NORTON 66260195365 is a single point diamond dresser designed for truing and dressing grinding wheels in machine shop and production grinding applications. It uses a single natural or synthetic diamond stone rated at 1/4 carat to restore the cutting face of a wheel, removing glazing and re-establishing proper wheel geometry. The 3/8-inch shank diameter and 2-inch shank length provide rigid tool post or holder mounting. The dresser is resettable, allowing the stone to be repositioned when one face wears, extending service life. Installation and use require no special trade license but are common tasks for machinists, tool grinders, and grinding machine operators.
This diamond dresser is suited for bench grinders, cylindrical grinders, surface grinders, and tool and cutter grinders in both job shop and production environments. It is used wherever a grinding wheel must be trued to run concentric or dressed to restore a sharp, open cutting face. The single stone design is appropriate for general-purpose dressing across a range of abrasive wheel types and grit sizes.
Designed as a standard single point diamond dresser for use with tool posts and dresser holders accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter, suitable for a wide range of bench, surface, and cylindrical grinding machines.
A machinist or grinding machine operator should ensure the grinding machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before mounting or adjusting the dresser. The shank must be clamped securely in the tool post holder with sufficient grip length to prevent vibration during dressing passes. The dresser should be presented to the wheel face at a slight angle, typically a few degrees off vertical, following machine manufacturer guidance. Do not force the diamond across the wheel at excessive depth of cut, as this can chip or dislodge the stone.
