The NORTON 66254497070 is a Type II quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Blend series, designed for surface conditioning, weld blending, and finishing work on a wide range of metals. Measuring 2 inches in diameter, this non-woven disc uses vortex agglomerated aluminum oxide grain bonded with a proprietary Clean Bond resin technology to a high-loft nylon fiber backing. The medium grade cut rate and non-woven construction allow for consistent stock removal while minimizing gouging or heat buildup. It is rated at a maximum of 12,100 RPM and attaches via a Type S quick-change system for fast, tool-free changeovers in production and fabrication environments.
This disc is suited for handheld disc sanders and straight grinders used in metalworking, fabrication, and maintenance applications. It performs across a broad spectrum of materials including 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, tool steels, and fiberglass composites. It is well suited for both shop and field use where rapid disc changes and consistent finishing results are required by metal fabricators, pipefitters, welders, and maintenance technicians.

Confirm the tool spindle speed does not exceed the disc maximum RPM of 12,100 before mounting. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and do not use a disc that shows tears, delamination, or deformation. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating abrasive equipment.
