The NORTON 66254482340 is a non-woven quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, designed for surface preparation, blending, and finishing tasks on metal and composite materials. The disc measures 1.5 inches in diameter and uses a Type R (Roloc-style) attachment system for fast mounting and removal on compatible tools. Constructed with aluminum oxide abrasive grain on a flexible polyester backing, it runs at a maximum of 30,000 RPM. At 150 grit (Very Fine grade), it is suited for fine surface conditioning and smear-free finishing. Clean Bond resin technology and high-loft nylon fiber construction support extended disc life and consistent cut rate.
This disc is designed for use on a wide range of metals and materials including 300 and 400 series stainless steel, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, fiberglass and composites, gray iron, hard and soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels. It is compatible with die grinders and handheld disc sanders equipped with a Type R quick-change mount. Typical applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and pre-inspection finishing in fabrication, maintenance, and repair environments.
Compatible with die grinders and handheld disc sanders fitted with a Type R quick-change arbor. Rated for use on 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, brass, bronze, cast iron, copper, ductile iron, fiberglass and composites, gray iron, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, super alloys, titanium, and tool steels.
Installation is performed by metalworkers, fabricators, and maintenance technicians using a Type R quick-change tool holder. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 30,000 RPM disc rating before use. Inspect the disc for damage before mounting and do not use damaged or deformed discs. Follow all applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel use.
