The NORTON 66254482327 is a non-woven quick-change abrasive disc from the Bear-Tex Rapid Prep series, designed for surface conditioning, blending, and finishing on a wide range of metals and composites. At 1 inch in diameter with an 80 grit medium grade, it uses aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded to a flexible polyester backing. The Type S attaching system allows fast disc swaps on compatible handheld disc sanders without additional hardware. Clean Bond resin technology keeps the abrasive matrix from loading or smearing during use, making it well-suited for work on stainless steel, copper, titanium, and other materials where surface contamination is a concern.
This disc is intended for trade and industrial applications requiring controlled surface prep on tight or contoured areas. The 1 inch diameter fits handheld disc sanders used by fabricators, pipefitters, HVAC sheet metal technicians, and maintenance mechanics. Typical use cases include weld blending, edge conditioning, and pre-inspection surface cleaning on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The high-loft nylon fiber construction extends disc life by maintaining cut rate as the surface wears, reducing the frequency of disc changes during production work.
Designed for use with handheld disc sanders accepting a Type S quick-change attaching system. Rated for material applications including 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, Brass, Bronze, Cast Iron, Copper, Ductile Iron, Fiberglass and Composites, Gray Iron, Hard Carbon Steels, Soft Carbon Steels, Super Alloys, Titanium, and Tool Steels.
Install only on tools rated for the Type S quick-change system and confirmed to operate at or below 40,000 RPM. Inspect the disc and tool for damage before each use. Always wear appropriate eye and hand protection when operating abrasive discs at high speed. Follow tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive product mounting and operation.
