The NORTON 66254400694 is a coated abrasive fiber disc designed for aggressive stock removal and deburring on metal and other hard surfaces. Built on a vulcanized fiber backing with a resinoid bond, it carries 36-grit aluminum oxide abrasive grain rated Extra Coarse for fast, heavy cutting action. The disc measures 4-1/2 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole for direct mounting on right-angle grinders. It is rated to a maximum of 11,000 RPM, making it suitable for standard 4-1/2-inch angle grinder applications common in fabrication, welding prep, and maintenance trades.
This disc is used in industrial and commercial settings where rapid material removal is required — weld seam grinding, edge deburring, surface conditioning, and scale removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The Series F220 construction and brown fiber backing provide the rigidity needed to withstand the lateral forces typical of angle grinder work. Trades that commonly use this disc include metal fabricators, pipefitters, welders, ironworkers, and maintenance mechanics working on structural steel, pipe, and plate.
Designed for use with 4-1/2-inch right-angle grinders equipped with a 7/8-inch arbor backing pad. Verify the grinder free-speed RPM does not exceed the 11,000 RPM disc rating before mounting.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel following grinder and abrasive safety guidelines, including ANSI B7.1 standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing the disc. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and never exceed the maximum rated RPM. Wear appropriate PPE including face shield, gloves, and hearing protection during operation.
