The NORTON 66253466437 is a Type 1 (flat) cut-off wheel engineered for aggressive cutting on steel and stainless steel using stationary grinders. Built with a zirconia alumina abrasive grain and a resinoid bond, it delivers fast, consistent cuts with good wheel life across demanding shop and foundry applications. The wheel measures 16 inches in diameter by 5/32 inches thick with a 1-inch arbor hole, and is rated to a maximum of 3820 RPM. Both sides are reinforced for added structural integrity under load. This is an NZ Foundry All Purpose rated wheel suited to high-volume cutting tasks.
This cut-off wheel is intended for use on stationary grinders in industrial, fabrication, and foundry environments. Primary applications include cutting carbon steel and stainless steel stock, pipe, plate, and structural shapes. Its large 16-inch diameter makes it suitable for production cutting where a smaller angle grinder wheel would be impractical. Fabricators, pipefitters, and maintenance welders working in shops or on-site with stationary cutting equipment are the typical users of this wheel size and specification.
Designed for use with stationary grinders accepting a 16-inch diameter Type 1 cut-off wheel with a 1-inch arbor hole. Rated for cutting steel and stainless steel.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the grinder manufacturer's instructions and applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the machine's rated spindle speed meets or does not exceed the wheel's maximum RPM of 3820 before operation. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and never use a damaged wheel.
