The NORTON 66253370802 is a Type 27 depressed center grinding wheel designed for heavy-duty material removal on angle grinders and right-angle grinders. Built with a ceramic alumina abrasive and a resinoid bond, it delivers consistent stock removal with coarse-grade aggressiveness. The wheel measures 9 inches in diameter and 1/4 inches thick, with a 7/8-inch arbor hole for standard spindle fitment. At 1.68 pounds, it is suited for sustained grinding passes on steel, stainless, and other hard metals in fabrication and maintenance environments. The rigid, non-flexible construction holds geometry under load for flat and edge grinding applications.
This wheel is used in structural steel fabrication shops, pipeline work, maintenance and repair operations, and heavy manufacturing where aggressive surface grinding or weld blending is required. The Type 27 raised-hub profile allows grinding at lower angles, reducing operator fatigue during extended flat-surface or bevel-grinding tasks. It fits 9-inch angle grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor. The coarse ceramic alumina grain is well matched to ferrous metals and heat-resistant alloys where faster cut rates are prioritized over fine finish.
Designed for use on 9-inch angle grinders and right-angle grinders equipped with a 7/8-inch arbor spindle. Confirm tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the maximum operating speed marked on the wheel before mounting.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B7.1 and the grinder manufacturer's mounting instructions. Always power down and disconnect or lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and never mount a damaged wheel. Use the correct flange size and tighten the arbor nut to the tool manufacturer's specified method — do not overtighten by impact.
