The NORTON 66253364510 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rates and dimensional stability under repeated thermal cycling. The wheel measures 14 inches in diameter, 2 inches thick, with a 5-inch arbor hole, and carries a 60-grit, K-hardness (medium grade) specification. It is rated to a maximum of 1,800 RPM. Licensed machinists, tool-room grinders, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers and operators of this wheel.
This grinding wheel is suited for surface grinder and cylindrical grinder applications across job shops, tool rooms, and CNC cutting tool machine operations. The 32A specification designates a well-established aluminum oxide grain structure appropriate for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. The medium grade and vitrified bond make this wheel well-matched to moderate material removal rates where surface finish consistency is required.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines equipped with a 5-inch arbor. Rated for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron.
Mounting and operation of grinding wheels must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 1910.215 guidelines. Always perform a ring test and inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before mounting. Ensure the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 1,800 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Machine power must be fully locked out and tagged out before changing or dressing the wheel.
