The NORTON 66253364039 is a Type 1 vitrified aluminum oxide surface grinding wheel built for heavy-duty stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Measuring 14 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, with a 5-inch arbor hole, this wheel runs at a maximum rated speed of 1800 RPM. The 80 grit, K hardness (medium grade) specification delivers a balance of cut rate and surface finish suitable for production grinding on surface grinders and cylindrical grinders. Weighing 11.2 pounds, it is sized for industrial-scale applications. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and porosity that supports consistent chip clearance and cool cutting across a wide range of materials.
This wheel is suited for use in job shops, tool rooms, and production grinding environments handling ferrous and non-ferrous stock. Compatible materials include 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. Typical install platforms include surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. The 5-inch center hole accommodates standard large-wheel spindle flanges common on industrial floor-standing grinders.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Suitable for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron.
Mounting and dressing of grinding wheels should be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation by performing a ring test, and never exceed the maximum rated RPM marked on the wheel. Use properly sized flanges and a blotter between the flange face and wheel as required by safety standards.
