The NORTON 66253363930 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cut rate and form retention across extended production runs. The wheel measures 14 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, with a 5 inch arbor hole, and carries a 60 grit, J hardness (medium grade) specification. Rated at 1800 RPM maximum, it is suited for surface grinders and cylindrical grinders in production and toolroom environments. Licensed grinding machine operators and tool and die technicians are the primary installers of this wheel.
This wheel is rated for use on 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It is designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. The porous, vitrified-bond construction promotes coolant flow and chip clearance, making it well suited for wet or dry precision grinding applications in both job shop and high-volume production settings.

Grinding wheel mounting and dressing must be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test per ANSI guidelines. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels. Never exceed the 1800 RPM maximum speed marked on the wheel, and always use the correct flanges and blotter paper during installation.
