The NORTON 66253363928 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for heavy-duty stock removal on a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built around an aluminum oxide abrasive grain bonded in a vitrified matrix, the wheel delivers consistent cut rates and predictable wear characteristics across the full face. At 14 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, and bored to a 5-inch hole, it mounts directly to full-size surface grinders and cylindrical grinders. The 60-grit, I-hardness (medium grade) specification balances aggressive material removal with reasonable wheel life, making it well suited to production grinding applications. Rated at 1800 RPM maximum, the wheel weighs approximately 10.1 pounds and carries the 32A60-IVBE specification designation.
This wheel is designed for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Material applications include 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It performs effectively in both roughing passes and finish passes at the coarser end of the grit range, making it a practical choice for tool rooms and production grinding cells that work across multiple material types in a single shift.

Grinding wheel installation and dressing must be performed by qualified personnel following ANSI B11.9 and applicable shop safety standards. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting using a ring test, and never exceed the 1800 RPM maximum speed rating under any circumstance. Use flanges and blotters appropriate for the arbor bore size, and allow the wheel to run at operating speed for at least one minute behind a guard before bringing it into contact with the workpiece.
