The NORTON 66253363919 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for high-stock-removal applications on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It measures 14 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, with a 5-inch arbor hole. The wheel is made from aluminum oxide abrasive bonded in a vitrified matrix, delivering consistent cut rate and long wheel life. At 46 grit with a J hardness code (coarse grade, medium hardness rating), it is well suited for aggressive material removal on hard and soft carbon steels, stainless, and cast iron. The 32A46-JVBE specification identifies this as a standard Norton 32A Series wheel. Licensed grinding professionals and toolroom machinists are the primary installers and operators of this wheel.
This wheel is rated for a maximum of 1800 RPM and is intended for use on surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. The porous, vitrified bond structure promotes chip clearance and coolant penetration, reducing heat buildup during extended grinding passes. Compatible material applications include 400 Series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. It is sold individually as a single-unit package.
Designed for use with surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, and CNC cutting tool machines. Suitable for grinding 400 Series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, aluminum, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron.
Wheel mounting must be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B7.1 safety requirements for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always perform a ring test before mounting and inspect the wheel for cracks or chips. Verify the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 1800 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Use proper blotters and flanges rated for the wheel diameter, and never exceed the rated speed under any operating condition.
