The NORTON 66253344373 is a Type 11 snagging grinding wheel designed for aggressive material removal in heavy-duty grinding applications. Built with Zirconia Alumina abrasive and a resinoid bond, this wheel delivers fast, consistent stock removal on ferrous metals, castings, and weldments. At 14 grit with an R hardness rating, it falls in the very coarse range, making it well suited for rough snagging work where surface finish is secondary to removal rate. The wheel is rated for a maximum of 6,000 RPM and carries a 4NZ14-R specification designation. It weighs 5.2 pounds and measures 6 inches in diameter with a 2-inch overall thickness.
This wheel is used in industrial and fabrication settings where operators need to remove large amounts of material quickly from castings, billets, forgings, or weld beads. The Type 11 cup wheel profile concentrates grinding contact at the face and is a standard configuration for bench and pedestal grinders as well as angle grinders used in foundry or heavy fab environments. The 5/8-11 hub thread and 4-13/16-inch hub diameter accommodate common spindle configurations found on grinders in these applications. Professional fabricators, welders, and metalworking trades are the primary users.
Designed as an OEM-style snagging wheel for use on bench, pedestal, or angle grinders configured for Type 11 cup wheels with a 5/8-11 hub thread and a maximum spindle speed of 6,000 RPM or lower.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator following applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheel mounting. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and perform a ring test. Never exceed the 6,000 RPM maximum rated speed marked on the wheel.
