The NORTON 66253344365 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel engineered for aggressive stock removal on hard and exotic metals. Built from zirconia alumina with a resinoid bond, it carries a 14 grit, very coarse grade rating and a T hardness code, making it suited for rapid material takedown rather than finishing work. The wheel measures 8 inches in diameter, 1 inch thick, and accepts a 5/8 inch arbor bore. It is rated to a maximum of 6000 RPM and is non-porous and non-tapered. Licensed grinder operators, tool-and-die technicians, and fabrication shops are the primary installers and users of this wheel.
This wheel is part of the NORTON BlueFire 4NV series and is designed for use on ID grinders. Material applications include 300 series stainless steel, 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, and super alloys. The semi-friable zirconia alumina grain continuously self-sharpens under load, sustaining cut rate across extended grinding sessions on tough workpieces. It is a practical fit for production grinding environments where fast, consistent stock removal on ferrous and high-alloy materials is required.

Mounting and dressing of grinding wheels should be performed by trained personnel following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 guidelines for abrasive wheel machinery. Always verify that the grinder spindle speed does not exceed the 6000 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel before mounting. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and perform a ring test per standard practice. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels.
