The NORTON 66253343872 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel engineered for aggressive stock removal on ferrous metals and hard alloys. Built on a resinoid bond with zirconia alumina abrasive, it delivers a semi-friable cutting action that continuously exposes fresh grain during grinding. The wheel measures 3 inches in diameter, 1/4 inch thick, and carries a 3/8-inch arbor hole. Rated at a maximum of 20370 RPM and hardness code T, it is suited for use in flexible shaft grinders and ID grinders where a coarse, fast-cutting wheel is required. Part of the Norton BlueFire 4NV series.
This wheel is designed for very coarse-grade material removal across a range of metals including 300 and 400 series stainless steel, hard and soft carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, and super alloys. Typical applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and deburring in maintenance, fabrication, and tool-room environments. Its compact 3-inch diameter makes it well matched to ID grinders and flexible shaft grinder setups where larger wheels cannot access the work area.
Designed for use with flexible shaft grinders and ID grinders. Compatible material applications include 300 Series Stainless, 400 Series Stainless, hard carbon steels, soft carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, and super alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive wheel safety per ANSI B11 and OSHA 1910.215 standards. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before mounting, and never exceed the maximum RPM rating of 20370. Power down and de-energize the grinder completely before changing wheels. Use the correct flanges and arbor hardware for a 3/8-inch hole to ensure the wheel is properly seated before operation.
