The coarse 46 grit and G hardness code (soft hardness rating) allow the wheel to cut freely and release dull grains quickly, maintaining an open, aggressive cutting action. Rated at a maximum of 2320 RPM, it is sized at 14 inches in diameter and 1-1/2 inches thick with a 5-inch arbor hole. This grinding wheel is suited for use on surface grinders and cylindrical grinders in both industrial and maintenance shop environments. It is designed for grinding 400 series stainless steel, hard carbon steels, tool steels, titanium, super alloys, cast iron, ductile iron, and gray iron. The semi-friable ceramic grain structure makes it particularly effective on hard, heat-sensitive materials where conventional aluminum oxide wheels would glaze or burn the workpiece. Grinding wheel installation and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 1910.215 safety standards for abrasive wheel machinery.
